Mo joined Gungho in early 2023 as the first recruit in Gungho’s newly established premises in Bournemouth. With over 20 years working in sales and marketing, Mo has become a vital part of the team and as Team Performance Manager, supporting the calling team to ensure that they have everything they need to hit and exceed their targets.
What were you doing before Gungho and what attracted you to the role?
I spent the last 20 years working in sales and marketing. Initially, I dedicated seven years to technology marketing, working in a very similar industry to what we do here at Gungho. I then spent 9 years as an Insurance Broker where I worked in private medical insurance and life insurance, with companies like AXA and other major players.
I have very fond memories of working in technology marketing and when I saw the role at Gungho come up in the Bournemouth office, I felt really drawn to it and felt as though this would be the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.
What does your role as Team Performance Manager at Gungho, entail?
My role entails overseeing both the team’s performance and the office’s day-to-day operations. I manage the team as they work, helping to improve performance where we can but also making sure everyone here has everything that they need to complete their job successfully.
I like to foster a fun atmosphere. We pride ourselves on the work that we do. We work hard, but we do have fun while we do it, which I think is important. We have a really good balance of keeping focused on targets as well as personal achievements.
Can you describe the atmosphere in the Bournemouth office?
You might have noticed during your time here that there’s a strong drive for success. It’s evident, and what’s even better is that it creates a balanced competitive atmosphere within the team. This is a target-driven role so there has to be an element of competitiveness, but we believe in working hard while also maintaining a friendly and supportive environment.
What excites you most about being part of the new office?
The Bournemouth office opened at the beginning of 2023, and we have a fantastic team based here already. The most exciting aspect of being part of the new office is contributing to its growth journey. It’s a fantastic opportunity to shape its success while upholding Gungho’s core values. Spearheading this venture in Bournemouth is an exciting opportunity.

What truly sets Gungho apart is that as an organisation, Gungho strikes a perfect balance between being friendly and highly professional. From a holistic perspective, the approach I’ve observed here has been quite refreshing. Whenever I’ve required any kind of support everyone has been genuinely really nice and helped wherever they can.
Beyond work, tell us about your interests and activities.
Outside of work, I’m an avid Arsenal fan and also have a keen interest in boxing. Since moving down from London it’s harder to go and watch the games but I am still a huge fan. Also, generally, with the 3-day weekend, it means I have plenty of time for socialising with friends and family.
Lastly, what aspect of your job do you find most fulfilling?
The office is brilliant and there is such a great group of people here. The most fulfilling aspect of my job is supporting the team in achieving their goals and surpassing targets whilst witnessing their professional growth. It’s incredibly satisfying to contribute to their improvement and see them confidently hit their targets.
